In 1981, George Kidner’s son Stephen (John) Kidner purchased the company from his father. Having worked for the family business since 1969, John Kidner also had extensive knowledge in the region providing the local community with continued employment and Civil Construction Services.

Kidner Contracting owns and operates several quarries and sand extraction pits at the Millstream, Tumoulin and Gamboola. Expanding our operations with the acquisition of Kidner Contracting Concrete (formally Lunns Concrete) Quality Assured ISO 9001 Concrete Batch Plant in 2003 and A separate Directors’ acquisition of Earthtech Laboratories, Geotechnical Testing Services NATA Certified Laboratory in 2016.

Kidner Contracting maintains an Integrated Quality, Safety and Environmental Management System (IMS) that is externally Audited and mapped to the following standards:

Quarrying & Crushing

We have a gravel pit at Ravenshoe Quarry. These provide a full range of products, including base and sub-base unbound pavement materials for road, civil and on-site works.

All of our operators and team have the appropriated tickets and licences. All staff are trained to the highest standards for customer service, safety and environmental awareness.

Haulage & Weighbridge

Everything to keep the freight and equipment moving smoothly. Whilst recognising and keeping it within all Queensland transport regulations.

Earthtech Laboratories

Our experience covers a wide range of geotechnical, engineering, mining and environmental projects in Cairns, Tablelands, Cape York, Gulf of Carpentaria and Torres Strait areas.
